As a long-time fan of Niagara Launcher’s minimalist approach, I find the vertical app list brilliant in concept—but challenging in practice when managing a large number of apps.
Problem:
When you have hundreds of apps installed, the list becomes overwhelming and inefficient to navigate. Manual cleanup is tedious, and traditional folders aren’t in line with Niagara’s clean philosophy.
Proposed Feature:
An optional AI-based tool that helps organize, group, or prioritize apps intelligently based on usage patterns, context, or categories. This would act like a smart assistant that keeps the list tidy without changing Niagara’s interface paradigm.
Key Requirements:
Simple: The system should be automatic, with minimal setup (e.g., a single toggle: “Organize my app list with AI”).
Impactful: Power users with large app libraries would benefit immensely.
Universal: Should work offline or allow the user to authenticate with their own API token (e.g., for OpenAI), avoiding license or GDPR issues.
Independent: If turned off, Niagara reverts to the original list—no clutter, no overhead.
I’m happy to use my own token if licensing is a blocker for built-in AI.
