Feature Request

Consider the situation: you're in bed, lying on your front, phone in one hand to your side. You really don't want to move your hand from its wonderul position on your phone, but alas! The app you want to get to is halfway further up the alphabet than your tiny thumbs can reach.

Well, you get the idea. Reaching the extremities of the alphabet with one single thumb motion is difficult to impossible if you're holding your phone in one hand, depending on your phone and hand size.

To combat this and make it more accessible, particularly for users with smaller hands or larger phones, two options could be made available (ideally both).

Option one is an absolute/scroll alphabet toggle. At the moment, the alphabet is on absolute positioning: when you put your finger on G, you go to G. A toggle could be added to make the alphabet behave more like a scroll bar on a website on PC: When you tap a letter, you go there, but if you hold and scroll, it will allow you to scroll up and down through the alphabet from the position it's at already.

Option two is the ability to change alphabet height. I honestly don't know why this isn't already a feature, but it really should be.

    I'd actually like to see features like changing alphabet hight and hidden alphabets which pop up when you start scrolling

    I would REALLY love to see this feature, I haven't found any launcher that does this and it would be a great addition for accessibility

    I want the relevant app icons to appear right at the tip of my thumb when I stop scrolling the alphabet list. Now, let say I wanted G, it would stop in the middle of the screen. I have to move my thumb up. On a large screen, this is not easy.

    I second the alphabet hight adjustment! I have a Z flip and use it in bent mode often. Because of that, it's really hard to access the alphabet over the crease. The ability to adjust the height so it is only over the lower half of my phone would be amazing. Also help with using it one handed so I don't have to strain to reach A.

    I really like the idea of a sliding alphabet. When scrolling, an arrow could be shown (fixed position, middle of the screen) pointing to a letter which would then show apps starting (or better still with a word starting - for app names with multiple words) with that letter. I understand this could be significant work though…

    For reference, holding my phone in my usual position one-handed, my thumb can comfortably reach from H to V. Stretching it can barely reach Z, but no chance it's reaching A, it doesn't even reach C.
