app list using full screen height for chosen letter

I think it's not best usability that the app list doesn't use the full height of the screen for the chosen letter.

In my example I have many apps starting with the letter M. The app list leaves about 30% free space at the top of the screen although all apps would fit the screen if this place was used. Instead this space is filled with the last letter L apps after taking the finger off the screen. Needing an app at the end of letter M means that I need to scroll further down after choosing M or to choose N instead of M to see the last M apps at the top of the screen after taking the finger off the display choosing N.

Both isn’t really good usability.

Would it be possible to use the full screen height for the apps with the chosen letter, at least when there are many apps starting with this letter?
