Central Message Center (Ratio)

A centralized message hub that aggregates all conversations across messaging platforms (e.g., WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Instagram, SMS, etc.) into a single interface similar to the concept introduced by Ratio Launcher’s “Tree” but without relying on notification-based message fetching. Instead, it would function more like Beeper, which directly integrates with services via APIs or bridges to fetch full message history and enable real-time sync.

Key Features:

  • Unified inbox for all messages across platforms

  • Native message fetching without dependence on OS-level notifications

  • Support for sending and replying directly within the interface

  • Message search across all platforms

  • Conversation grouping and filtering (e.g., by person, platform, unread)

  • End-to-end encryption where applicable

Why Ratio Did It:
Ratio Launcher introduced “Tree” to reduce digital clutter and centralize communication. Their goal was to provide a minimalist, focused environment where users could engage with messages without being pulled into the endless distractions of individual messaging apps. By aggregating notifications into a single timeline, Ratio attempted to reframe how users interacted with digital conversations, putting control and intentionality first.

Inspiration:

  • Ratio Launcher’s “Tree” (visual and organizational inspiration)

  • Beeper (technical architecture and independence from OS notification systems)
