Detox Mode

A dedicated mode for Niagara Launcher to reduce digital distraction and encourage mindful phone use. It achieves this by making the interface less engaging and adding intentional friction to app access.Problem Solved: Helps users combat compulsive phone usage and reduce screen time by making the device less stimulating.Key Functionality:

  1. Grayscale Theme: Applies a subdued, grayscale visual theme to the launcher and potentially system-wide (if possible) to reduce visual appeal and stimulation.

  2. Aggressive Timers & Friction:

    • Stricter App Limits: Configurable, shorter daily usage limits for selected apps.

    • Delayed App Launch: A short, customizable delay before apps open after tapping their icon.

    • Cool-down Periods: Optional pauses enforced between opening frequently used apps to break rapid switching.

  3. "Boring" UI: Minimizes animations and potentially simplifies notification display to further reduce engagement.

  4. Flexible Activation: Easily toggled on/off, schedule-able for specific times, with a "Break Glass" override for emergencies.

Value Proposition: Enhances user well-being by promoting healthier digital habits, differentiates Niagara Launcher, and supports focus and productivity.

Similar to this commenter I would love a way to change the intensity of the screen. Black and white is a little too extreme but I would love a slider that would allow me to adjust the “vividness” of the screen. I.e. to be able to lower the saturation on a slider to the level preferred, and this would apply to all apps open on the screen. Not sure if this is with in the scope of a launcher though…

If you have a samsung device you could do this by going to your settings → accessibility → vision enhancement → color corrections. Idk about other phones tho, google could help
