Events from subscribed ICS calendar not showing

I have subscribed an external calendar (via ICS) in my Google Calendar. In the Google Calendar app, events from that external calendar are showing up fine and updated regularly.

However, in the Niagara calendar widget no events from the external calendar are shown.

I have ensured that the calendar is checked in the Niagara calendar widget filter settings.
