Feature request: Categorized app index (left side)

Hi Niagara Team,

I love the launcher, but finding apps when you don't remember their exact name can be tricky with just the A-Z alphabet scroll.

I'd like to suggest adding a category index on the left side (e.g., Social, Games, Productivity, Utilities), alongside the existing A-Z alphabet on the right.

This dual-index approach would make browsing much faster and more intuitive when you're searching by purpose rather than by name.

Thanks for your great work!

TL;DR i think having folders defeats the purpose of the whole app. but maybe they could custom-create categories that come up in the search bar instead — especially to help quickly find work-related or other category-specific apps — by searching with a specific keyword.

i definitely have thought about this too and would like the option for a folder of favorites instead of a list, but having folders for everything also is basically what our phones original home screen came with anyways. i think part of the reason it helps you stay off your phone is because of the friction lol. its harder/more annoying when youre like “ugh where is this app again” lol, it interrupts that subconcious swipe-to-instagram-folder-and open-without-realizing action we all do.

however, i think maybe a helpful solution to your issue instead could be through the search button. for example, if you search “social,” it would bring up all social media apps, or “games” for games, etc. im not sure how they'd program this, it might be easier to have people create their own keyword/category and toggle what apps shoe up if you used that keyword. i'd personally be ALL over that that, because then (as others have mentioned) that could assist with helping to find work, school, or other routine/category/location-specific apps in one spot :)
