Google Clock Widget shows "Loading .." behind it

Lately, the Google Clock widget at the top of my home screen has been showing “Loading…” even while the clock is being displayed in that space. It used to show that immediately after rebooting the phone until the clock widget displayed; then it would disappear. At first, I thought it might not be a Niagara problem, but then it also started randomly making me reselect Niagara as the default launcher, which is really annoying.
