After updating to Android 16 / OxygenOS 16, pressing the Home button no longer behaves correctly in Niagara Launcher.
Normally, pressing Home should open Niagara Search, and pressing Home again should return to the regular home screen. Instead, the following happens:
- Pressing Home from the home screen does not reliably open Search.
- When Search is already open, pressing Home does not return to the home screen. The search bar briefly disappears and then comes back.
- The user has to press Back to exit Search.
- Sometimes the home screen widget disappears when pressing Home.
- Swiping up to open Niagara Search works correctly every time.
- When the user is currently in Niagara's app list, pressing Home opens Search correctly.
The issue happens every time the Home button is used.
The user already:
- Confirmed Niagara Launcher is set as the default launcher.
- Force-stopped Niagara Launcher.
- Restarted the device. The issue started after an Android/OxygenOS update.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Set Niagara Launcher as the default launcher.
2. Go to Niagara's home screen.
3. Press the system Home button.
4. Observe that Search does not behave as expected.
5. If Search is open, press Home again.
6. Observe that Search briefly disappears and then returns instead of going back to the normal home screen.
Additional behavior:
- Swiping up opens Search correctly every time.
- Pressing Home while in Niagara's app list also opens Search correctly.
- The issue occurs every time the Home button is pressed.
