Interface Improvement suggestions

I’m now a one week or so lifetime purchase user. I scoured Niagara’s website to gain a sense of the developer’s mission directives. Offering a few simple suggestions I think would:

1. be simpler to implement (in two cases reassigning preexisting structures),

2. blend into the interface with minimal disruption,

3. greatly enhance user control and experience.

Pop-Up Folder Creation In App List

I see on the pop-up folder (PUF) feature request page you’re working on better creation flow. My only suggestion in this regard? Place a top-level folder creation option directly under the app list. Most new users learning the app, and many users who temporarily cluster apps for specific tasks, will frequently build and remove PUFs. Drilling down into app settings or through favorites editing menus feels counterintuitive, awkward, and overly complicated. App List > Create Pop-Up Folder (with favorites/app list location option) > Bob’s your uncle.

The app list sports two settings options at the bottom, Niagara settings and recently installed apps. How about an option to show most frequently used (MFU) apps? Niagara already tracks this, but optionally spreads the results among PUFs and app list letter dividers. Why not grant users an option to see their MFU apps in one place? They could use the information to more readily create quick access PUFs or decide which apps to place where. This seems a more generally useful tool than noting which app was last installed. I know I don’t reach for an app based on when I downloaded it unless I’m troubleshooting.

Widget Resize Adjustment Bar Disambiguation

It’s a uniformly shaped scale slider from left to right. But which direction for bigger or smaller? Folks who read languages left to right may choose right as larger, but those who read right to left (Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese) may feel the opposite. Solution? Shape the slider bar as a wedge and eliminate the confusion. Of note, the widget frequently disappears during adjustment, making it difficult to evaluate for fit. Would be great to resolve that.
