It can be useful to be interrupted for a short bit when launching apps like social media - one can habitually launch Twitter when bored, but a brief popup that asks “are you sure?” and makes the user wait can be enough to reconsider.
OneSec is a great example of an app that does this, but I think implementing this at a launcher level is the neatest way to do it - I’ve had other apps that try to inject themselves into the launch flow loose the link I was trying to open in Facebook, or just result in a clumsy string of rapid switching between windows. I would like the interrupt to happen when I open the app from the home screen, and it’s less important that this happens when I intentionally follow a link to Twitter from a different app - a launcher integration is the nicest way to implement that, and I think it would complement Niagara’s Digital Wellbeing Initiative nicely!
