Thanks for reporting! Niagara's media widget only mirrors what a player publishes through Android's media session, so when the track title and the buttons are both dead, it usually means the app isn't publishing a complete session.
A quick way to tell the two apart: pull down Android's quick settings panel and expand it fully, so you see the system's own media player. If the track info is missing and the buttons do nothing there as well, the cause sits in UAPP, and its developer would need to implement proper transport controls.
