Overlap of widget stack and alphabet sidebar

Need to use fill screen for widget stack because widgets are cut off, eg Accuweather. In this example, the refresh button in the AccuWeather widget is unusable because the alphabet sidebar takes precedence. I don't need or want the sidebar to overlap the widget stack. When I select the sidebar, it opens below the widget stack and that's fine but even though the space used by the widget stack is not used, it still interferes with any selection on the right side of the widget stack (with fill screen). This problem impacts 2 of my 4 widgets in the stack, the other being Wifi Widget which has control and refresh on the far right.
