Physical Keyboard Shortcuts vs Search

Feature Request

Especially with the onset of your collaboration with Clicks Communicator, I highly recommend allowing a physical short press/long press application launcher, or at the very least allow us to turn off the default smartsearch feature.

Currently Niagara launcher overrides my Pastiera Keyboard and Unihertz application shortcuts for its own smart search (even though all smartsearch features are turned off) and this is not the intended behavior. I want to be able to press my physical keys from the homescreen to instantly launch an application. I believe most Clicks users would agree that this is a nice feature.

I would also hope that this feaure doesn't get in the way of quickreply, because I like that about Niagara!

    Thanks for writing this up, and for the detail about your shortcuts being swallowed. Two things that may help right away: the number keys 1 to 9 launch the nth app in your list straight from the home screen, and Tab opens the app list. The full list is here: Mouse and Keyboard Support.

    Letters starting the app search is how the home screen works today, and there is no setting to turn that off. Keyboard handling is being reworked at the moment for the Clicks Communicator, and the v1.16.24 release notes explicitly ask for reports like yours, so your post lands at a good time.
