Quick select from pop-up folder

Currently if I hold on the pop-up folder icon, it opens up— this is great! But I want to extend this hold, keeping my finger held down, and moving up/down to select WITHIN the folder; just like the alphabet roll, but opening the app immediately, not just selecting it.
