Stacked widgets disappearing (also when swiping)

Sometimes when unlocking the phone, no widget is visible. I have to swipe to the left or right. When I swipe two times in quick succession no widget is in the stack.

1. Add 2 widgets

2. Swipe two times to the left (quickly)

3. A blank widget appears
