tapping on calendar event in agenda tries to create new event

When I tap on an event in the calendar agenda widget it brings me to the create new event screen in my calendar app (Samsung calendar)

Aka the same screen that pops up when I click “+ New Event” in the agenda

    Fyi this issue seems to have resolved itself for me in the past week. I wonder if the latest Samsung calendar version (12.7.03.1, released on 12/10/2025) fixed it. I'm not positive because I have automatic updates on, but if Niagara hasn't done anything (which I'm still on version 1.15.2), there's a chance it was something on Samsung’s end. Hoping it sticks and works for others too 🤞

    Hello everyone,

    I have the same problem and am attaching two videos.

    Smartphone: Samsung A56

    Niagara launcher: 1.15.2

    Samsung Calendar: 12.7.02.24

    I have tried a few different Niagara launcher versions(1.15.2, 1.14.13, 1.13.21) and the behavior is the same in all of them. When I tap on a calendar event, a new calendar event is created, but the times are taken from the existing event.

    Since this behavior is the same in several Niagara launcher versions, I think it is due to a change in the Samsung Calendar app.

    In the two videos, you can see that a new event is created instead of modifying the existing one. There are two videos because I wanted to demonstrate it with different times. The time from the original event is transferred each time.

    Also facing the same issue. Compared with how it works on Google Calendar, and it opens fine there, but instead tries to create a new event in case of Samsung Calendar.

    I have noticed the same issue on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

    It worked fine up until a few days ago.

    Usually, if you tap on an event in the Agenda, you will enter Edit mode for that event, where you can make updates or delete it. If it’s a series, you can delete just one event or the whole series.

    Now, when I tap on any event, it just opens a new event creation window. There’s no way to edit or delete the event unless I manually open the calendar app, taking away from the functionality of the launcher.
    There were no Samsung OneUI or Samsung Calendar updates on my phone in recent weeks.

    I also reached out to Samsung support, but they advised I reach out to the app developer (like they always do).

    Expected functionality is to bring up the expanded view of the event I selected in my calendar app. This used to work but stopped working a week or two ago.

    EDIT: correction on original post—im on android 16, not 15
