Two level apps list

Is it possible to have two level of app list, so it would roughly behave like this: the first level should be the alphabetical list just as we have it now. After we get to the alphabet we want, a swiping gesture toward the center of the screen would trigger the second level carousel, which enable the list of second letter of the app (in case the app is sorted alphabetically) or move the app up and down (in case apps are sorted based on usage) within the alphabet list. Optionally, releasing the touch on the app could trigger pop-up or launch the app. In my opinion, it would improve one hand usability, as you can potentially reach your app with only one continuous touch. Furthermore, it would be very helpful if you have a very long list of apps with same first letter that could consume more than whole screen.

    I came to ask for this same feature. Once you get used to your app list and the way Niagra has you sort through them I’m sometimes pretty reliably able to stop it right on the app I want, being able to continue to swipe over to launch it would be nice.


    Having this built into the gesture, with a toggle probably, where it allows more fine control as you move in and shows a highlight on the app you will launch if you follow through swiping would be nice.

    I’d imagine it’d take some getting used to, just like it does when first using Niagra. But man it’d be nice to do it in a single gesture. I think it’d also subtly encourage parsing down your total app list so it’s easier. Right now I’m not as prudent about hiding one off apps, but with being able to quickly launch some of the somewhat occasionally used apps as a single gesture I’d want to make that easier.
