Since the Android 16 update, leaving the phone charging idle overnight causes the default Moto Launcher to override my third-party launcher (Niagara). Upon wake-up, the navigation bar fails to render edge-to-edge transparency, leaving a permanent solid gray block under the gesture pill that requires a daily restart to fix.

    Thanks for the detailed report! The part where the system launcher takes over as default is a known Android-side problem that hits all third-party launchers. Our article Niagara Launcher Not Staying As Default lists what helps: set the home app back under Android's settings > Apps > Default apps > Home app, and it is worth exempting Niagara from battery optimization so the system stops shutting it down overnight.

    The gray block under the gesture pill is a new one for us, and we have passed it on to the team. Could you let us know whether it also appears on days when Niagara stayed the default launcher, or only after the Moto launcher took over? That tells us whether the two are one problem or two separate ones.
