OpenWeather data isn't great. There's talk hereabout switching, but no one has done anything, and that thread is now more than 2 years old… This is supposed to be a premium feature.
I came here to suggest something similar. Per Forecast Advisor, Open Weather is one of the less accurate forecasters for my area. If I had the ability to choose my weather provider I would definitely use the Niagara Widget daily. As it stands I keep it disabled and use another weather service.
I've found a pretty neat weather app here on GitHub. I hope the Devs look into it. It has all the goodness of the Google Stock Weather.
Just leaving this as an option. I haven't used it extensively, but ideally an integration with this would be perfect for people that want a Google weather experience.

My priority is getting away from OpenWeather. I'd be fine if the end solution happens to be AccuWeather.
