Using bright anycons I cannot set folder/pop-up icon color to anything else but shades of blue

On my previous phone (oneplus) I could create a popup folder and edit it’s icon to whatever color available and after that I could choose an appropriate icon based on that color. So for example I had a green popup for comms, a blue for banks, a green for calendar etc. Now on my new phone all the folders created are the same three shades of blue and when I try to edit the icon it only shows me that shade of blue available. When I try to search for an icon in bright anycons all the icons have the same shade of blue.
