I’ve been using the Niagara Launcher for years and really appreciate its minimalist concept. However, there is one issue that has become increasingly frustrating — and I think it’s being underestimated: the vertical placement of the app list is far too restricted.
Even when you set the position of the top app to the highest possible value, there is still a noticeable gap between the first app and the status bar. This unused space forces the entire list further down the screen. On large displays it’s tolerable, but on more compact devices it becomes a real ergonomic drawback. And this has nothing to do with thumb reach: it’s not about a single shortcut, it’s about the entire main view of the launcher.
From my perspective, the vertical position should be fully adjustable. Users should be able to place the app list almost directly below the status bar — or much lower — depending on personal preference, device size, and individual workflow. The current limitation feels artificial and goes against what Niagara aims to achieve: maximum overview with minimal friction.
I’d really appreciate it if the development team could consider making the vertical placement much more flexible, both upwards and downwards. It should be technically feasible, and it would significantly improve the experience for many long-time users.
