Feature Request

I'm aware of the seeming dislike of widgets here, but I thought I'd suggest this. I have a few widgets that are useful - at a glance information, saving me time and making things convenient, but they show information I don't necessarily want anyone looking at my phone to see (examples, not necessarily mine, are health information, a partner's or child's location, or a private to do list), and I don't like the wasted space on my home screen.

I could create an empty category with four widgets in a stack, and over half the category is empty visually, I have to do extra swipes, etc.

Or, I could use that empty category space and show 2 or maybe 3 widgets at once. That way they're not always visible, they presumably aren't always using resources (considering you've said that widget stacks save resources I assume a category would also be the case), and there could still be a limit of 3 or 4 per category.

    I honestly have no idea how I managed to describe this so badly, but sure.

    I was in the simplest terms suggesting a “widget folder”. That way I could swipe on an app, or tap on the Niagara button, and a folder would open with multiple widgets visible at the same time (stacked vertically, instead of in a swipeable list).

    That way the widgets aren’t “in your face”, they aren’t cluttering up the UI, and they aren’t consuming resources when the folder is open. However, you can quickly “at a glance” view multiple widgets at once (today it can be frustrating having to swipe on an app to get a folder, and then swipe multiple times to find the correct widget in a widget stack).

    This sounds like an interesting idea. Could you please elaborate on what you mean by ‘category’? Are you talking about an alphabet section in the all-apps list or something else entirely?
