Widgets fail to redraw on cover screen after folding/unlocking Galaxy Z Fold 8

I’m experiencing an issue with widgets on Niagara Launcher when transitioning between the inner and cover displays of a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.

The widget works normally on both displays. However, after unfolding the phone and then folding it closed again, the phone returns to the lock screen as expected. After unlocking the cover screen, the widget area is blank and the widget is not rendered.

The widget does not reappear on its own, even after waiting. As soon as I interact with Niagara Launcher—for example, scrolling through the app list—the widget immediately appears again.

Steps to reproduce:

Start on the cover screen with a widget visible in Niagara Launcher.

Unfold the phone and switch to the inner display. The widget remains visible and works normally.

Fold the phone closed. The phone switches to the cover display/lock screen.

Unlock the phone.

The Niagara home screen appears, but the widget is missing/blank.

Wait several seconds—the widget still does not redraw.

Interact with Niagara (such as scrolling the app list).

The widget immediately appears again.

Additional testing:

Initially I noticed the problem with a custom KWGT widget. To rule out KWGT as the cause, I tested a Samsung first-party widget and reproduced the same behavior. I also tested the Samsung widget by itself rather than only inside a widget stack, and the issue still occurred.

I set KWGT battery usage to Unrestricted and tested different KWGT update/redraw settings, including updating while the screen is off. These changes did not resolve the problem.

Because a Samsung widget exhibits the same behavior and interacting with Niagara immediately causes the missing widget to appear, this seems related to Niagara not redrawing/invalidation of the widget area after the fold → lock → unlock transition.
