Work folder / Work section

Add a work section or folder that contains all apps from a work profile.

These apps should only be shown if the work profile is enabled.

We are currently experimenting with a separate section for work apps in the all-apps list.

Users have responded to our question about how many work apps they have and regularly use. If you want to help us out, please add your number as a comment below.

I have 28 work apps, this is really the only thing keeping me from having Niagara as my daily driver

I have just 6 work apps, this is why it is very important to have them separately at one place. They are just lost in side my regular 50+ apps.

Would it be possible to add other apps to the “work profile folder"? I have some apps I use for work related purposes that are not in the work profile (the profile is controlled by my employer — so I can't just install them on the other side). It would be nice to bundle those into the work folder as well so it's neatly hidden away once I sign off for the day

Yes, something in this direction would be great.

In my mind, extending the concept of conditional favorites would make a lot of sense. We already have the concept of Music Apps, a group of apps that show when headphones are connected. What if there were other groups based on other conditions? My initial thought is a "Work Profile" apps list. These would only appear when the Android Work Profile is enabled, otherwise they'd be hidden.

To extend the concept further in the future, I can imagine other conditions making sense for other uses as well. Maybe a set of apps show when connected to a specific wifi network, or some apps show when charging, etc.

I use half a dozen or so work apps regularly, but I have >20 work apps installed.

Yes same for me, around 3 or 4 used regularly with 20 or so installed. I could see another use for conditional favourites on a foldable device where extra favourites were shown when the device is unfolded.

We already have this for Private space. I think it would be pretty easy to have a little briefcase or another icon like the private space icon holding all your work icons.
Right now I have to get around this by making a folder on the fave menu called work. But then I still have douplicate entries in my main list for the work and owner profile version of apps. :-(

I have 9 work apps. Right now I have Microsoft teams as an app on my home screen with pop up with other work apps.

I'd really like to hide the teams icon from my favorites either on a schedule or when work apps is disabled in Android.

A more broad approach maybe would be to have the ability to have two sets of favorites, and have them switch on a set schedule.

This would really level up this launcher. Thanks!

Agree with this comment. Two favourite lists that switch would be ideal.
