  • Universal · Has to work everywhere: in every country, on all phones.

  • Independent · Doesn’t add complexity if it’s not being used.

How to report a bug:

  • Please provide a clear and concise description of the bug.

  • Always include steps to reproduce the bug.

  • If possible, include screen-shots or a screen-recording.

We prioritize posts with higher numbers of upvotes. These are more likely to be reviewed and implemented.

"Recently used" apps list - like "most used" but it helps you stay on track

The computer science principle of Temporal Locality shows that the best predictor of what you'll access next is what you accessed most recently. It would be incredibly helpful if Niagara added a dynamically updating list of recently opened apps in chronological order. For example: I open Amazon to find a book, switch to email to search for the title, get distracted by an urgent message, and return to the home screen having completely forgotten my original task. Seeing Amazon right there below my favourite apps would instantly jog my memory. This fits your Impactful principle of feature requests perfectly. It is absolutely necessary for some—as someone with ADHD, context switching is hard and my working memory drops tasks instantly—but it is highly appealing for many, because people often want to access the same app again that they were just using. It’s also fits the rest of the bill for feature requests. Simple: Reusing the existing "often used" UI element but ordered by recency means the only visible change would be adding an extra toggle or drop down menu to select it “recently used” instead. Universal: Relies purely on remembering the user’s interactions with Niagara when launching apps, thus working perfectly on any phone. Independent: Integrated natively, it adds no clutter or complexity if a user simply scrolls past the option.

App pop-ups: Swap pop-up's main app with one in the pop-up

For Pro users. For favorite apps, swiping on it shows the app’s pop-up “folder.” Sometimes I end up using an app in the folder more that the favorite app. I'd like to be able to edit the pop-up to swap the favorite app with one in the folder, effectively replacing the favorite app with the other, while retaining the folder contents. For example I have my favorite game in my favorites and the pop-up contains all my other games. Later, my favorite game changed and I don't play first one as much. I want to remove my old favorite game from my favorites and add my new favorite game, but currently I'd have to rebuild the pop-up contents for it.

Minimal To-Do List That Fits Niagara’s Philosophy

Hi Niagara Team, I love how strictly Niagara follows simple, universal, and clutter-free design. That’s why I believe a Niagara-style To-Do list fits perfectly—if done right. Here is a proposal aligned with your principles • Simple – An icon/ sliding bar. No folders, no priorities, no dates. Just “add → do → done”. One click to add, one to complete. • Easy to configure – Default OFF. When enabled, it appears on top right corner or bottom left. • Impactful – To-dos are one of the most common daily needs. For minimalists, it replaces heavy apps instantly. • Universal – only text required. Works Offline. Works everywhere, on every phone. • Independent – If unused, it adds zero UI clutter or cognitive load. Pls discuss this features even if the placement & sliding bar/icon needs to be changed pls considered this adding it means a lot to note taking peoples.

Feature Request: Location-Based "Smart Profiles" for ultimate context-awareness

Hi Niagara Team! First off, I absolutely love the launcher—I’m a proud Niagara Pro user and it has completely changed how I use my phone. I have an idea for a new Pro feature that I think would take Niagara’s minimal, context-aware philosophy to the next level: Location-Based Profiles. The idea is inspired by the "Sound Zones" feature in the Sennheiser Smart Control app, where settings automatically adjust based on your current location. How it would work: Allow users to set up geographical "Zones" (e.g., Work, Home, Gym), called in the UX as ‘‘Profiles’’. When you enter a zone, Niagara automatically switches to a specific aesthetic Profile tailored to that environment. Customization options per profile could include: Different Wallpapers: e.g., A calm, distraction-free wallpaper for Work, and a vibrant one for Home. Wallpaper Filters: A toggle to make the current wallpaper Black & White (I've attached mockups showing my setup in color vs. B&W) or inverted. Icon & Text Colors: Automatically switching icon packs or text colors to match the vibe of the zone. Why this fits Niagara: Niagara is all about giving us exactly what we need, when we need it. Having my phone automatically switch to a grayscale, distraction-free setup when I arrive at the office, and revert to full color when I leave, would be incredible for digital wellbeing. I’ve attached a couple of screenshots to show how a colored vs. B&W profile might look in practice. Additionally, as a UX/UI designer, I am really passionate about this concept. If this is a feature the team is interested in exploring, I would love to offer my help to map out the UX user journey and design the interface for creating and managing these zones. Thanks for considering, and keep up the amazing work!

Classic button navigation behaves strangely

When configuring the Android system navigation to use the classic button navigation (instead of the modern gesture navigation), the Home button behaves strangely in Niagara Launcher — especially when the clock widget has been replaced with a custom widget: On the first press of the Home button, the app in the foreground disappears and the launcher’s wallpaper becomes visible. After a short delay, the favorites and the widget appear. When pressing the Home button a second time, the favorites and the widget disappear, but only the favorites reappear after a short delay. The custom widget remains missing and only reappears after pressing the Home button a third time.

Bug Reports

Persistent redraw delay/blank screen when swiping home (ColorOS)

I am experiencing a consistent 1-second delay (blank screen) every time I swipe up to go home using system gestures. The wallpaper appears immediately, but icons and widgets take a second to redraw. I have tried locking Niagara in RAM, disabling battery optimizations, and enabling "Allow background activity," but the issue persists. It feels like the system is killing the launcher process aggressively. The issue disappears if I switch to 3-button navigation. Steps to reproduce the behavior: Set Niagara Launcher as the default home app. Ensure "System Gesture Navigation" is enabled in system settings. Open any application. Swipe up from the bottom to go home. Observe the blank screen/delay before icons appear.
